Bega Special Tools introduces new portable multifunctional induction heater

Bega Special Tools introduces the MF Quick-Heater 3.0-3.5 kW, a new portable multifunctional induction heater with a maximum output of 3.5 kW. This brand new model is part of the MF Quick-heater 3.0 series, for industrial heating of all types of ferromagnetic parts. The heaters are used for assembly, disassembly and preheating. Weighing only 7.85 kg and sized to fit into a small carrying case, this powerful device offers solutions for difficult conditions where other systems are not usable.

The generator is combined with a flexible inductor that can be wrapped in or around a workpiece. It heats parts very quickly or very controlled, depending on the application: disassembly or assembly. Examples of applications are bearings, sleeves, gears, inner rings, etc. The heater is easy to use (just connect to mains 230V) with 4 different heating modes. 2 temperature sensors allow measuring the internal and external temperature of a workpiece. When this Delta-T function is enabled, the maximum set temperature difference between 2 points can never be exceeded. Smart electronics ensure optimal operating frequency. The heating process is displayed on a 4.3-inch touchscreen. A log function can save or export data via the USB connection.

Induction heating: a highly efficient and environmentally friendly method for industrial heating applications

There are many other reasons to consider induction heating compared to conventional methods. Heating is controlled, fast and energy-efficient. The quality of work is better, it increases machine up-time. Since there is no open fire, there is no polluting smoke or noise. Personal safety is also an important consideration.

The MF Quick-Heater consists of a generator MF 3.0-3.5kW, 230V; two magnetic temperature sensors; a pair of heat-resistant gloves; flexible coils, available in optional lengths of 5m, 7.5m and 10m, for a maximum temperature of 180°C.

PRESS RELEASE

Schaeffler acquires BEGA International B.V.

The acquisition expands Schaeffler's range of mounting and dismounting products for rolling bearings

100 % stake acquired through share purchase agreement signed on 28 July 2021

Important step in the expansion of Schaeffler's service activities as part of its "Roadmap 2025" strategy

SCHWEINFURT | 30 July, 2021 | Schaeffler has acquired BEGA International B.V. (Bega), a leading manufacturer of special tools for the assembly and disassembly of rolling bearings. The acquisition marks another step in the expansion of Schaeffler's lifecycle service portfolio. Access to the IIoT platform created for Schaeffler's OPTIME condition monitoring solution also opens up new opportunities for Bega's intelligent maintenance tools. Customers will also benefit. They will have a common user interface for all touchpoints, which will contribute to a seamless user experience throughout the entire lifecycle of rolling bearings, from installation to monitoring and maintenance, through to repair. Customers and partners will be able to source solutions and services for rolling bearing maintenance and monitoring from a single supplier and will benefit from more streamlined access to a range of maintenance and repair solutions.

"The idea behind our strategically important Industry 4.0 business is to be the partner of choice for predictive and prescriptive maintenance solutions. By partnering with Bega, we can offer our customers high-quality total lifecycle services and solutions for bearings and other driveline components," said Rauli Hantikainen, head of Schaeffler's Industry 4.0 strategic business field.

"Thanks to this new partnership, Schaeffler and Bega will be among the leaders in maintenance solutions," said Henk van Essen, who is Bega's current CEO and will continue in this role in the future. "We also want to be the most innovative supplier of maintenance instruments."

Safe bearing mounting with induction heaters 4.0 technology

Safe bearing mounting with induction heaters 4.0 technology

Meet the smart BETEX© induction heaters. These are used for controlled heating of bearings, gears and other machine parts. By using smart processor technology, there is better control of a stress-free and monitored heating process. The process can be recorded by the log function.

Correct bearing assembly is one of the critical processes affecting bearing life. The requirements for correct assembly are increasing. Especially for very expensive bearings or for bearings in hard-to-reach locations. With the introduction of these new series, Bega is responding to the industry's demands for a high(er) level of control over the heating and mounting process.

Two series have been developed: a BASIC series and a SMART series.

The BASIC series replaces part of the current BETEX programme. These heaters operate with a simple keypad and have a single temperature sensor. Work can be done by time or temperature. Smart electronics ensure optimal heating and efficient power consumption.

The SMART series is used when more control over the heating process is desired, using 2 temperature sensors. These have a modern and easy-to-use touchscreen. The heating process can be seen in a clear graph. Data can be saved and also documented externally via a USB connection. A double temperature measurement (Delta T) makes it possible to fully influence the temperature progression. Now the operator determines exactly at what rate a bearing is heated. So speed is not decisive, but stress-free heating is. This prevents damage.

Induction heating is a sustainable way of heating. It replaces old techniques such as ovens, oil baths or open flames, which use much more energy or involve pollution or safety risks. BETEX heaters are robust and made for industrial and intensive use. These modern induction heaters are very efficient in their energy consumption.

Beware of fake BETEX© induction heaters

Several times it has been brought to our attention that our Bega (Betex) heaters are being copied.

We have received pictures from China (to be expected) and recently even from the US Florida! (surprising).

In both cases, the parties involved are ex-distributors of Bega Special Tools.

If you would like more information or suspect that you are dealing with a copied product, please call or email us: +31 578 668000 | info@bega.nl
